On July 1, 2014, the University of Maryland will officially join the Big Ten Conference. To help commemorate this historic moment, we invite you to help us celebrate. This special site provides information on special events and activities to help the university usher in a new era in athletics and academics.

THINK B1G Homecoming Week

OCTOBER 16–19 / CAMPUS-WIDE

Hosted on Maryland’s first day of classes, we’re throwing a campus-wide celebration event to commemorate our inaugural Big Ten season. The day will feature B1G games, giveaways and special surprises!

Taking advantage of UMD’s position as the closest institution in the Big Ten to our nation’s capital, a special Traumatic Brain Injury Research Forum will bring together University of Maryland researchers with the head of the CIC’s Traumatic Brain Injury Research Collaboration.

Maryland will hold its annual Red-White spring football game. Kickoff is set for 7 pm. Admission to the game and parking are free of charge. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Big Ten Network t-shirt and exclusive Pride 2.0 Spring Game Poster. A pre-game fan fest will be held in the west end zone and will include giveaways, inflatables games, face painting and more. Fans are also encouraged to stay for post-game autographs and a B1G fireworks show!
