All university coursework requirements must be completed by the time of graduation. Your student account must be cleared with the university before your diploma will be mailed. This includes any outstanding Health Center charges, parking fines, library fines, etc. Check with the Office of the Bursar at 301.314.9000 to be sure that you have financial clearance. The University Book Center is the official supplier of commencement regalia for the university, with Oak Hall as the official provider. Cap and gown packages can be purchased at The University Book Center, located in the Stamp Student Union, or online by clicking here.
For information about class rings and announcements, visit www.balfour.com. Balfour representatives will be at the Grad Fair to take orders and showcase the Maryland announcements and class rings.
Undergraduate and Master’s Degree Students
Undergraduate and master's degree students must purchase their regalia from the book center. The following items are required and sold as a package:
For Spring Commencement, graduates may purchase regalia packages at the University Book Center’s Grad Fair in March (date coming soon) and acquire a $10.00 discount. The undergraduate package will cost $137.98 and the graduate degree package will cost $145.98. If regalia is purchased after the Grad Fair, pricing will be $147.98 for undergraduate packages and $155.98 for graduate packages. Please email email@example.com if you live out of state and will need regalia shipped to you. Items may be shipped for an additional $15.95. If you have questions, contact the University Book Store at 301.314.9231.
Online orders can only include the full package. Additionally, the Grad Fair discount is not available for online purchases. Graduates looking to purchase individual items from the regalia package can do so at the University Book Center.
Doctoral students may rent or buy their regalia. If you choose to rent your regalia, it must be picked up from the book center (shipping is not available). The cost to rent regalia is $230.98 and the cost to purchase regalia is $1,066.98. To order or rent regalia visit the University Book Center.
Diplomas will be mailed several weeks after graduation.
