The Purple Line

The state is building a 16-mile light-rail line that will provide transformative benefits to Terps. They'll be able to ride for free between the five stops on or near campus, use new bike lanes and take advantage of more convenient connections to Metro, MARC and Amtrak. Plus, the transit system is expected to reduce dependence on vehicles and the university’s greenhouse emissions.
